W. Michael Strickland founded the law firm Strickland, Chesnutt & Lindsay, LLP, in 1974.
In 1975, Samuel L. Chesnutt joined the firm and in 1976, the partnership of Strickland & Chesnutt was formed.
In 1987, the Winder office moved into its current location, a beautiful historic building located at 76 West Candler Street.
In 2000 John J. Lindsay, who had been an associate with the firm, became a partner, and the name was changed to Strickland, Chesnutt & Lindsay, LLP.
In 2001, the firm opened an office in Athens, Georgia.
In 2011, the firm opened an office in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Over the years, Strickland, Chesnutt & Lindsay, LLP has cultivated a respected legal reputation and is currently one of the largest firms in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit.
